Each ship can take an artisan hundreds of hours to construct. The world class woods used to build these models are subjected to rigorous seasoning procedures to ensure they will withstand any climate, preventing them from warping or splitting. These pieces are made in the small village of Phu Tuc, Vietnam. Situated in the Dong Nai province which is located in the eastern part of South Vietnam, east of Ho Chi Minh City, this province is known for its strong, rich, unique woods old sailing ship and hand-carved craftsmanship.
